First meal out in Rome, I had the cacio e Pepe with and it wasn’t something spectacular. The service was super welcoming and accommodating. I had asked for a glass of white not specifying much and the Pinot Grigio brought out blew me away, what an incredible sip! Decent espresso, happy to have ended my meal with limoncello.
We had a mixed experience at Da Trani. The atmosphere is definitely the star here. It's a beautiful space with a wonderful vibe that we really enjoyed. However, our visit had a couple of downsides. We had to wait a surprisingly long time for our food to arrive. Once it came, the dishes were good, but unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to the amazing setting. The service was okay, though the long wait was a bit of a letdown. It's a lovely restaurant with great potential. With a little more attention to the timing and the food, it could be a real standout.
You can book a table which we did as we had a party of 5 and didnt want to miss the roadside table. But there was also plenty of tables in the lovely inside restaurant. The service was excellant and not pushy. The food was superb and THE BEST Tiramisu I gave tasted -and I have tasted several. The lasagna was terrific and my grilled prawns plentiful. And the pizza and grilled salmon wonderful. Something fir everyone. Really appreciated the complimentary Prosecco on arrival which was very refreshing and a limoncello shot on leaving. Definitely want to return.
